What is latency:

A measurement of time between each "API heartbeat" in milliseconds.
This can be affected by many factors including the Discord API status, the bot host status and internet connection.
If the latency gets higher expect the bot to start slowing down with responses, if to high you may notice the bot freezing up completely.

TLDR:
A number that shows how long it takes to do a thing with Discord's API. Higher this is the slower the bot.
